Everything you need to plan your trip to Furry Migration!
Even if you know the area please check MNDOT 511 site for latest information on road closures.
It is recommended that you use your favorite GPS/Map software for your phone. These links should work on most phones: for Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Waze. If you don’t have a cellular device or don’t want to use it on the way to the hotel we recommend using Google Maps a few days before your trip to lock in a route.
If you are bringing down your vehicle to Furry Migration there are many parking options downtown, including many overnight parking ramps. For convenience, we recommend the parking ramp attached to the hotel, but check out our parking page for additional options.
Check out the MNfurs forums or our discord– a great place to find a room and/or ride share or find a couple extra friends to help with the costs!
Once you’ve landed at MSP, you’re going to need to get to the hotel.
Ride from Humphrey/Lindbergh Terminal 1 or 2 station to Nicollet Mall Station. Trains run every 10-15 minutes. There is no service between 1am and 5am. Fares range from $2.00 during normal periods to $2.50 at rush hour.
From the Nicollet Mall Station it is a 10-15 minute walk to the hotel. Regular bus service is also available at a reduced downtown rate; visit the Metro Transit website for schedule information and use “Nicollet Mall Station” and “Hyatt Regency Minneapolis” as your waypoints.
Your choice of Uber, Lyft, or taxi service are also available for trips both to and from MSP. Prices will vary, but seem to range between $20 and $60 depending on time and level of service.
The shuttle runs every half hour between 6:30AM and 11:00PM.
Reservations can be made online at http://www.supershuttle.com/ or by calling 1-800-BLUEVAN.
First and foremost, Furry Migration is designed to a pedestrian-friendly convention. There are dozens of food and shopping option within a short distance.
This is where we’d normally rave about the beauty of Nicollet Mall. However, there’s (still) a lot of construction happening out there. It’s not pretty but still very useable, and walking continues to be the best way to get around.
Metro Transit’s Downtown Zone is inexpensive travel without the footwork. It’s a bus or train ride for a fraction of the normal fare! You can reach most downtown stores, restaurants and businesses on the Downtown Zone fare, which is $.50 at all times.
Simply tell the driver before you pay your fare that you will be riding only within the Downtown Zone to avoid paying the normal fare. If you ride outside the zone, the driver will ask you to pay the added fare. Transfers are not available with Downtown Zone fares.
